If a school does not appear on the list, it means all spots at that school are now full.

Unmatched Students

You should have received an email from us containing a form where you can submit your new rankings or re-rank your original selections if the schools are still on the list with available spots.
The deadline to complete and submit that form is January 19, 2026, at 4:00 PM.
Please take your time and read all instructions carefully before submitting.

Conditional / Pending Students

You should have received an email from us containing a form where you can submit your new rankings or re-rank your original selections if the schools are still on the list with available spots. The deadline to complete and submit that form is January 19, 2026, at 4:00 PM.
Please remember that we can only match you if you are endorsed.
If you are unsure about your endorsement status, contact your faculty exchange representative for clarification.

If you did not receive a match

• Students with matches are currently accepting or declining. This may open up spaces.
• Schools with remaining spots will be posted on January 14.
• You may update your application by emailing studyabroad@uwaterloo.ca with your new ranked choices by January 19.
• We will attempt to match unmatched students again on January 21 and notify you of the outcome that day.

We understand this process may feel disappointing or stressful, and we appreciate the care you’ve put into your application. Please take time to reflect on your options and reach out if you have questions before the deadlines.

FYI for students considering exchange to Australia

Please note that the standard Australian student visa fee has recently increased to AUD $2,000. If you are planning to apply for an exchange in Australia, be sure to factor this into your budget when preparing for your application and overall exchange costs.
